Staff and students at Spalding Grammar School are celebrating another successful GCSE year.
Despite being disappointed with the English results, headteacher Nigel Ryan said the results show an improvement on last year with 91 per cent of students achieving an A* to C pass rate.
In a statement, Mr Ryan said: “Yet again the hard work of both students and staff has been justly rewarded with many outstanding GCSE successes, particularly in maths and physics.
“We are disappointed with our English results, (as we understand several other schools across the country are) due to the changes in the exam system/marking criteria, but we intend to following this up with the exam board.
“Overall, the results show a pleasing improvement on last year’s, reflecting the commitment this year group made to their studies.
“All the students can be justly proud of their achievements.
“This year group have been a delight to teach and a pleasure to have in the school.
“We look forward to their continued success at A Level.”
