Mother and daughter involved in Spalding street fight

A Spalding mother and her daughter who fought with another woman outside a town nightclub have each been ordered to do 200 hours’ unpaid work.

Nicola Richardson (49) and Dominique Richardson (28) were drunk when they assaulted Alana Kirk at about 3.45am on June 18, after all leaving XO.

CCTV footage of the incident in Westlode Street was shown as the pair appeared before Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

It showed a melee in the street, with first Nicola Richardson and Miss Kirk getting into a fight and ending up on the floor.

Then Dominique Richardson was seen to get involved, punching Miss Kirk several times as she tried to drag her away.

Prosecutor Michael Little said: “[The victim] describes being assaulted in quite a prolonged attack, which is largely supported by the CCTV.

“Miss Kirk appears to have had a bit of a pop back.”

The complainant, who was said not to have been drinking, suffered black eyes and hair loss in the incident.

Nicola Richardson, of Lansdowne Court, and Domenique Richardson, of New Road, each pleaded guilty to assault. They were given 12-month community orders for the unpaid work and each told to pay Miss Kirk £200 compensation.

Mike Alexander, mitigating for both defendants, said Nicola and the complainant were “giving as good as each other” at one point.

He added: “A crowd of people decided to watch rather than splitting them up which is annoying.”

The solicitor conceded that Domenique had “gone over the top” and her actions did not support a defence of self-defence.

Mr Alexander said there would be a question mark over Nicola Richardson’s future as a senior care home assistant as a result of the conviction.
