LETTERS – Is early bird scarer necessary?

I understand the need for farmers to protect young, newly planted crops from birds etc.
My issue as a Holbeach resident (just north of the A17), is, whether it is necessary or legal to fire off a bird scarer from 4.30am onwards every morning for over a week now.
