Business owner and Jamie’s stepmother Daryl Moore said: “We run a food delivery service and a lot of our customers are elderly.
“Spending time with our elderly customers is an important part of our service, as often we are the only face they will see all day. Jamie is great, he will serve up their food, stay for a chat and run errands.

“There are two occasions where we feel Jamie has gone above and beyond his role as a delivery driver.

“On one occasion an elderly gentleman had fallen down the stairs and was laid at the bottom. Jamie managed to gain entry and kept him calm whilst he contact the emergency services via the panic button.
“Jamie stayed with the gentleman until the paramedics arrived. Jamie then phoned us to make sure the gentleman’s family were made aware.

“Whilst also delivering to another elderly lady he found her on the floor, having fallen out her chair. Jamie helped her to a kneeling position, but she was too heavy to lift in his own.
“He contacted her son, waited for him to arrive and they helped her to safety.”

Jamie, who has been known to carry out little DIY jobs for customers, also helped a woman who he found crying because she couldn’t fill out a form.
The English Takeway, based in High Road, does event catering, meals on wheels and a takeaway service.
