Four South Holland churches will be looking lovely over the Bank Holiday weekend as they host their annual flower festivals.
Whaplode St Mary’s Church is celebrating 50 years of its flower festival and the theme this year is 50 Bloomin’ Years!
The festival starts on Friday at 10am and ends with a hog roast at 6.30pm on Tuesday.
The programme is:
Friday – 10am festival begins; 2pm organ recital;
Saturday – 11am-5pm local art and models in the village hall, 11am-5pm flower, produce and children’s competitions displays in the marquee; 2pm organ recital; 5pm bell ringing demonstration.
Sunday – 11am Sung Eucharist; 11am-5pm local art and models in the village hall; 1pm-4pm live music and dancing in the church and marquee; 5.25pm bell ringing; 6pm Songs of Praise with speaker, organist and choir;
Monday – 10am-5pm craft fair in the village hall; 1pm-4pm Teddy Bear/soft toy parachute drop, live music and dancing in the church and marquee; 2pm organ recital; 5pm bell ringing demonstration.
Tuesday – 10am-2pm festival open for produce, refreshments, etc; 6.30pm hog roast followed by grand draw.
Gosberton Baptist Church hosts its flower and craft festival from Saturday until Monday.
The festival is open from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday with afternoon entertainment from the Spalding U3A Singers.
On Sunday morning worship is at 10.30am, with the flower festival open from noon to 4.30pm, after which Songs of Praise takes place.
Opening times on Monday are 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Attractions include floral displays, arts and crafts, paintings by Christian artists, cakes and bring and buy stalls and competitions.
St Nicholas Church, Lutton, is holding its flower festival from Friday to Monday, from 10am to 5pm.
Stalls will include cakes and produce, crafts, tombola, toybola (every winner receives a toy), raffle and books.
The theme is Around Town and there will be demonstrations by LIVES and refreshments will be available.
There will be a driveway sale on Saturday from 10am until 2pm and The Jolly Crispin will have an art exhibition from 10am.
On Sunday, there will be a Songs of Praise service at 6.30pm.
Crowland Abbey holds its annual flower festival from Friday to Monday.
The festival is open from 10am to 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Monday, and from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday.
