PDFL round-up: Dec’s double is perfect tonic for Harrox Reserves’ title party

Top scorer Declan Earth bagged a double as Moulton Harrox Reserves celebrated winning the ChromaSport PDFL Division One title with a 2-1 win over nearest rivals Warboys Town on Saturday.

Earth bagged goals number 33 and 34 of the season for Kev Nottingham’s side at Broad Lane, as they won for the 25th time in 29 games this season.

After the match, Harrox got their hands on the title they’ve always looked like winning this season – and they are on for a double with the PFA Challenge Cup final against Stanground Sports Reserves still to come on May 15.

The Harrox victory also gave South Holland rivals Sutton Bridge United hope of clinching second place.

Up in the Premier Division, Crowland Town lost 8-1 at home to Stamford Lions as Luke Ball bagged four goals.

Down in Division Two, Tydd St Mary were on fantastic form with a super 6-0 success at Stamford Lions Reserves.

Scott Pemberton, Josh Slator, Jake Clitheroe (2), Tim Lowe and Max Burrell bagged for the Saints.

The top scorers of the week were Whaplode Drove, who walloped hosts Huntingdon Rovers 8-2.

Lee Jackson helped himself to five of the goals, while Jake Baines bagged two and Harry Grigas also notched.

Elsewhere in the same division, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves lost 2-0 at home to Feeder, while Tydd St Mary Reserves went down 7-0 at home to Cardea.
