Gedney Hill Golf Club’s annual Daniel Markillie Memorial Day once again proved to be a massive success.
The competition, which was held at the Gedney Hill course on Sunday, attracted 102 players and saw approximately £3,700 raised for charity.
Overall winner of the day was Andy Brereton, who prevailed with 45 points after countback.
The winner of the ladies’ competition was Roz Upton with 39 points. The picture shows organisers of the event.
- A team from Gedney Hill Golf Club comprising of Colin Rust, Jacqui Rust, Jim Starbuck and Lynn Exley, scored 80 points to finish third in the regional round of the England Golf Team
Championship held at Lingdale Golf Club, Leicestershire.
This secures them entry to the grand final, to be held at Frilford Heath Golf Club (Oxfordshire) on Monday, August 8.

James Hay’s super score of 66 (77-11) earned him the spoils in Division One of Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s May Medal.
Hay was four strokes clear of Andy Jackson (70) in second place, with Ken North (64) and Robert Simpson (68) leading the way in Division Two and Three respectively.
