ON TARGET: Billy King.

Moulton march into last eight as Gosling sees red

Moulton Harrox are South Holland’s sole representatives in the quarter-finals of the Lincs FA Junior Cup after ousting rivals Pinchbeck United 2-0 on Saturday.

First-half goals from Joe Townsend (20) and Billy King (pen 30) were enough for hosts Harrox at Broad Lane, as they toasted their second success over Pinchbeck this season.

The clash was effectively over five minutes later when United striker Tom Gosling was sent off for two yellow cards.

Pinchbeck player/boss Ian Dunn did test Lee Kenealy with a second-half free kick, but Moulton never looked like throwing away their advantage – and their prize is a tough trip to Lincoln-based RM Imps in the last eight. That tie will be played on January 10.

Harrox: Kenealy, Coddington, Cairns, Patterson, Johnson, Watkin, Townsend, King, Groves, Bradbury, Grimwood. Subs: McKue, Wilson.

Pinchbeck: Doughty, Leggett, B Murrell, Brooks, Dunn, Maltby, Gardner, Price, Gosling, Abell, G Stainfield. Subs: Dickinson, Jucikas.

  • Spalding Town bowed out of the Lincs FA Junior Cup after losing 2-1 at home to Horncastle Town on Saturday.

There was a welcome 3-0 win for Moulton Harrox Reserves at Whittlesey Blue Star thanks to goals from Louis Steadman, Declan Earth and Ben Wiggins as they moved out of the drop zone.

Elsewhere, Liam Barnett and Tyler Wright scored to earn Piinchbeck United Reserves a 2-2 draw at Oakham Reserves, while Michael Smith’s strike couldn’t stop Crowland Town Reserves from slipping to a 2-1 home loss against Wittering.

In Division Four, Raymond Points struck twice to earn Sutton Bridge United Reserves 2-1 win at Leverington Sports A.

Down a level to Division Five, leaders Whaplode Drove won 1-0 at Netherton B thanks to an Ayden Sallis strike, while Tydd St Mary Reserves lost 6-1 at home to Sawtry A. Jake Hinton-Penta got the consolation.
