Yould and Venni both victorious on Super Stock Car Saturday at Adrian Flux Arena

South Holland race aces didn’t disappoint at Super Stock Car Saturday at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena with a bumper set of results over the weekend.

The awesome 1300 Stock Cars lined up for the European Championship, while the brutal 2L Saloon Stock Cars and the always good to watch F2 Stock Cars helped make it a superb night all round.

Starting in the 2L Saloons, with over 30 of them in attendance they were in fence clattering good form.

Spalding’s Tom Yould (214) got the night off to a good start with a win in the opening race.

Then, in heat two, Rowan Venni (370) followed suit with a victory also, while Wes Starmer (525) picked up a sixth and a ninth across the night and Simon Venni (570) raced to a sixth spot.

In the F2 Stock Cars, Spalding-based drivers were out in force and racked up the results.

Pat Issit (113) took victory in one of the preliminary heat races, while also recording a fifth in a heat race and an eighth in the feature final.

Barry (597) and Jason Clow (795) also had a third and a ninth respectively across the night.

However, eyes were on Charlie Tomblin (129) who is one of the main contenders for the World Final event in two weeks time at King’s Lynn.

It was a consistent night for him, laying his marker as someone not to be forgotten about come the big race. A third place was his best finish in one of the heat races, followed up with a fourth in the day’s feature final, with a couple of other top ten places for good measure.

Holbeach-based Caine Parnell (229) was the one to watch in the 1300cc Stock Cars.

In the random grid draw for the Championship, he pulled grid position number two, outside front row, for the big race.

Parnell settled well and got into an early groove as he led for much of the early part. However, a string of yellow flag caution periods bunched the field up and Parnell fell foul of the brutal and savageness of the 1300 Stock Car class, resulting in a bunch of damage for the 229 machine, side-lining him for the remainder of the night.

Coming up on Monday (1pm) is an afternoon of motorised thrills and spills for all the family.

It’s one of the most destructive days of the year on the King’s Lynn shale with the annual Crash for Cancer Big Van Banger Destruction Derby day.

Also in action are the Reliant Robins with their World of Shale, while completing the bill are the all action 1500cc Bangers.
