Wet weather leads to postponements

Water logged pitches meant a host of games were postponed last weekend, including both those featuring Pinchbeck United and Holbeach United.
Second from bottom Knights found some form over Christmas in the United Counties League Premier Division North and were hoping to take that into the game at the side just above them last Saturday, Newark and Sherwood United.
The game at the Sir Halley Stewart was called off the night before though due to last week’s heavy rain.
They face a tough test this weekend as they visit fourth in the table Loughborough Students who beat Pinchbeck 11-0 in the reverse fixture in September.
It’s the first of two tough fixtures with leaders Sherwood Colliery their destination the following week. The Knights have 13 games left this season as they look to steer clear of the one relegation place currently taken up by Hucknall Town.
In the Thurlow Nunn First Division One North, Holbeach will look to a trip to Haverhill Rovers on Saturday after their fixture at Harwich and Parkestone was called off last weekend.
The Tigers are sixth, just outside of the play-off places but they now have at least one game in hand on some of those sides above them in the table.
