Under 30s success for the Spalding
Lightning bowlers

On Sunday, Spalding Lightning started the defence of the under 30s double triples competition.
The team was forced into a change from last season as Dominic McVittie is now too old whilst Chelsea Spencer enters her last year in the competition.
Spalding Lightning’s first round opponents were Boston who were not phased by playing the defending champions and actually were as far as 17-4 up across the two rinks during the early exchanges.
However, Chelsea Spencer’s rink at home picked up 11 shots in two ends to put some pressure back on Boston.
Both rinks battled hard and when Spalding Lightning went in front, they closed out the match well, both rinks winning by five shots and an overall aggregate score of 41-31.
Next up are Lincoln or Sleaford on Saturday, November 25.
Rink scores: Home – Dan Mills, Ruby Hill and Chelsea Spencer won 20-15, away – Ollie Jeapes, Stephen Harris and Jordan Philpott won 21-16.
