Unbeaten Sutton are the early leaders

Three victories from their opening three matches has left Sutton Bridge as the early leaders in Division One of the Peterborough League.

 
United followed up their derby victory over Long Sutton Athletic last Tuesday with a 2-1 away win at King’s Cliffe on Saturday.

 
Goals from Matthew Eaton and Ben Partridge secured a tidy away success against previously-unbeaten hosts.

 
Long Sutton fell to their third defeat from four games after a high-scoring loss away at Peterborough Polonia.

 
Despite a brace from player-manager Matt Cawthorn and strikes from Sam Moses and Billy Radeloff, Sutton shipped six goals at the other end against their newly-promoted hosts who have won both their games of the season so far.

 
Spalding United Reserves suffered a second successive defeat since their promotion to Division One.

 
They went down to a 4-2 home defeat against Oakham United Reserves with Miguel Abreu and Ryan Howard their marksmen.

 
The Tulips’ second sting were in action last night (Wednesday) when they made the short trip to Sutton Bridge.
