Two arrested after police and Trading Standards officers raid Spalding home

Two people were arrested following a joint raid by police and Lincolnshire County Council Trading Standards officers on a house in Spalding on Tuesday.(Feb 8)

The men – aged 62 and 37 – were held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.

An onlooker told The Voice that there was a lot of activity at the property in Woodfield Close in the Matmore Gate/Clay Lake area of the town.

He said: “The area is normally very quiet.
“About 10.45am there was a large transit outside indicating it was Police Tactical Support. Also there was a LCC Trading Standards van.

“Around 12.45pm the Tactical Support van was still in place, whilst the Trading Standards van had gone. Also at this time a fully manned police car had arrived with all the normal equipment – not a local panda but a big all-singing unit.
“Police were searching a car parked in the drive at 12.45pm.”

The two men arrested were bailed until April 12.
