Two armed police raids in Spalding as part of investigation in to shooting

Armed Police have stormed two properties in Spalding while another person from the town has been arrested as part of the investigation into the shooting of a man on Friday night.

A raid was carried out in Balmoral Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning (February 29) hours after a man was found by a motorist with a gunshot wound.

A second raid involving armed officers took place last night (Monday) in Cradge Bank.

Lincolnshire Police say no arrests have been made as a result of those raids but an 18-year-old from Juniper Close in Spalding has become the ninth person to be arrested in connection with the incident.

He’s been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH.

Of the nine arrested, three have been released on bail. These are the 40-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man and a 26-year-old man.

The remaining six are still in police custody and continue to be questioned.

They are: A 50 year-old man from the Boston area who has been arrested on suspicion of:

•             Attempt murder

•             Commit an act/series of acts with intent to prevent the course of justice

•             Conspiracy to cause GBH

•             Threats to kill

A 23-year-old man from the Boston area who has been arrested on suspicion of:

•             Conspiracy to cause GBH

A 25-year-old from the Huntingdon area who has been arrested on suspicion of:

•             Attempt murder

A 20-year-old from the Spalding area has been arrested on suspicion of:

•             Attempt murder

•             Possession of class B drug

A 30-year-old man from the Peterborough area has been arrested on suspicion of:

•             Conspiracy to commit GBH

An 18-year-old from the Spalding area has been arrested on suspicion of:

•             Conspiracy to commit GBH.

The man who was shot remains in hospital. He was initially found in Boston on Friday night (February 28) but police now say they believe the shooting happened in Spalding.
