TULIP TALK: Finale to the Christmas choir competition

Last Friday the first School Choir Competition Prize Giving Finale took place at St John the Baptist Church, Spalding. This was a great opportunity for all the schools to once again sing their Christmas song which they sang at the Spalding Christmas Light Switch On on November 14.
Well done to all the schools involved, over 345 people came and made it a real success. You sang your hearts out and everyone enjoyed watching you perform, you should all be very proud of the work you produced.
Congratulations to the winning school, Ayscoughfee Hall.
Each school was awarded £100 for taking part in the competition supported and presented by Pat Baxter from Bakkavor, £500 worth of High Street store vouchers presented by Kirstie and Justin from Majestic Bingo. A free game of bowling for the winning school was presented by Dave Charlesworth, who came with the Alley Catz to entertain the children, and books and sweets from Springfield Outlet Shopping & Festival Gardens. Thank you to Paul Watkins-Groves and Richard Lawrence, from EMG, for helping with this event and to the teachers who spent so much time teaching the children the songs.
A very big thank you to the sponsors – Mark Jepp, Kirstie and Justin from Majestic Bingo, Terry Moore from Bakkavor, Simon Stone from Springfields Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens, Paul Watkins-Groves from EMG Motor Group and Dave Charlesworth from Alley Catz.
Thank you to Keith and Yvonne Crawford from the Royal Naval Association and their team. It was also lovely to see John Hayes who found time from his ministerial duties, to support this community event. Thank you to South Holland District Council, Spalding Chamber of Commerce and the Rev Paul Whitely.
