Triple figures for farmer Bob

A former farmer has celebrated his 100th birthday with his family.

Born Cyril Fisher on May 8, 1923, Bob grew up at The Ship Pub in Lutton Marsh which his parents kept, until he was 17.
He married Barbara on March 23, 1946, and is a father to Sally and Angela, grandad to five and great great grandad to three.
Bob was in the Home Guard during World War Two with Barbara in the Civil Defence.
He worked as a delivery boy for local firm Cross Bros before becoming a farmer with his father locally, and thereafter on his own until his retirement.
The pair enjoyed spending time at their caravan at Snettisham where Bob enjoyed fishing with his pals.
Bob was married for 75 years before Barbara passed away when, shortly after, he became a resident of Gosberton Care Home.
A spokesman for the home said: “He was thrilled to receive his telegram from the King and the Queen, being a first of these for the home.”
