Closing - The Spalding GP Surgery.

Transfer of patients from Spalding GP Surgery to begin tomorrow

The transfer of patients from the closing Spalding GP Surgery at Johnson Hospital to other medical centres is to begin tomorrow (February 1).

Patients registered at Spalding GP Surgery have all now received a letter confirming the GP practice
they are being transferred to, the NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has said.

The phased approach will take place first for those going to Gosberton Medical Centre from February 1 to 14.

Patients transferring to Beechfield Medical Centre will do so at 4.30pm on February 7 and be able to access their new surgeries from 8am the next morning.

Those at Munro will transfer at 4.30pm the day after, February 8, and can access the new surgery from 8am on February 9.

A spokesman for the NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board, said: “Patients will be contacted by the practice once their registration has been completed.

“Patients are asked not to contact their new GP practice to check on the progress of their transfer.
Disruption to services

“On the days the patient transfers take place, there will be no access to services at Beechfield and
Munro Medical Centres, or Spalding GP Surgery from 4pm. This is due to the update required to
the clinical systems.

“While clinical systems are being updated, patients are advised to use alternative services during
these times, including using their nearest community pharmacy, NHS 111, or the Urgent Treatment
Centre at The Johnson Community Hospital.

“Patients are also advised to continue accessing services at Spalding GP Surgery until their
registrations have been transferred.”

Sarah-Jane Mills, director for primary care, communities and social values at NHS Lincolnshire
ICB, said: “We appreciate that the process to register patients from Spalding GP Surgery to an
alternative GP Practice has taken longer than planned and again we thank everyone involved for
their patience.”

Patients who have any further questions or who require their letter in another format or language
should contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) by telephone on 0300 123 9553 or by
email at LHNT.LincsPALS@nhs.net. The service is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday (except Bank
Holidays). PALS will direct any questions to the ICB for a response.
