The Voice of Spalding and South Holland
It’s as you were at the top of Division One following another top night of action in The Spalding and South Holland Voice six-a-side League on Monday.
Just four points separate the leading four teams in Division One after all four won at Surfleet, while Puyol Pants Down remain on-course for glory in the second tier and are now five points clear of the rest.
The only negative aspect of this week’s football at Surfleet’s Glen Park was two no-shows. Both Notinmymums Forest (D1) and BK’s Athletic (D2) cancelled their fixture without the required seven-days notice.
Forest face a fine and 5-0 defeat, while BK’s have now been removed from the league following a second successive no show.
Division One got under way with mid-table Evolution grinding out a 2-1 victory over relegation-threatened Horse and Groom in a game dominated by midfield battles.
A double from man-of-the-match (MOTM) Macauley Grimwood sealed the win.
Then came Forest’s no-show against Pro Ballers, which gifted the fourth-placed side a 5-0 success.
Leaders Tekkers then overcame the brick-wall that is Univeg Team’s defence in a 3-0 win. Comfortable, controlled and organised – Tekkers strolled to a victory that sums up their industrious style of play. Billy King was their MOTM.
Next up, high-flying You’ve Got No Fans scored an early penalty and never looked back as they beat Simple FC 5-1.
The game, perhaps tighter than the score line suggests, could have been a high-score draw had James Waldron had his shooting boots on.
Indeed, YGNF’s keeper Ollie Coulam was MOTM.

A defensive collapse in the last ten-minutes then saw Mirror Signal Malouda lose 3-0 to champions Polishborough.
MSM were very impressive throughout the game and did have Polishborough penned in at 1-0 before a deft finish from MOTM Krzysiek Goldyn saw the Poles breathe a sigh of relief.
The final match of the night in the top tier saw East Europa beat an unfamiliar looking The Squad 3-1. Ramunas Jurevicius was MOTM in this one.
Elsewhere, Division Two kicked off with the seriously in-form Posh Old Boys beating the seriously out-of-form The TBME 4-1 in a one-sided showing.
Posh, who had Will Kirkham as MOTM, are now just one point behind the second promotion spot.
FC Barnciols then ended Balotellitubbies good vein of form with a 3-1 win. Liam Lachasseigne grabbed MOTM number three for himself and helped Barnciols jump a spot to seventh in the process.
Then came BK’s no show, allowing leaders Puyol Pants Down to bag a 5-0 win.
BK’s will be replaced by new boys “Football Club” next week.
Next up, Tekkerslovakia pulled off the biggest upset of the night by beating promotion-chasing Sarah’s Boys 1-0. Matt O’Brien was given MOTM by referee Richard Wilde in a game which defied forecast.
The penultimate game of the second tier was a second-straight win for Bowlcut Wanderers FC as they beat Mail Carters 1-0.
A stunning solo goal the only difference between the sides as they played out an exciting match. Bowlcut skipper Robert Curtis-Argrave was the MOTM.
The night ended with Nibblesborough FC strolling past Dynamo Kiev 2-0, consigning them to the foot of the table in the process.
Harry Ledger rekindled his form in this match and was named MOTM.
