Three wins and centuries for Moulton

A fine innings from Josh Newton saw Moulton Harrox beat Sleaford 2nds in the South Lincs and Border Premier Division.
He came to the crease with the home 1 for 1 after Matt Barnett’s was caught for a duck attempting a drive early on.
Newton began aggressively, hacking a couple of boundaries through the covers as he raced to 50 inside 15 overs, before skipper and opener Chris Beale could trouble the scorers.
With Beale struggling to rotate the strike and veteran Giles Godard’s nine overs going for 15 runs, at the other end Newton took control dispatching the 20th over for 24 and rocketing the score to 100-1.
Hey brought up his hundred with back to back maximums over the club house before finally being dismissed for 137 from 90 balls in the 31st over with the score on 176.
Jamie Kitchen carried on the pace before Beale was bowled for 38 from 84.
Matt Rose added to the onslaught as he and Kitchen smashed a quick fire 80 as Moulton closed on 290 for 4.
Kitchen was 38 not out from 35 while Rose was out for 54 from 37.
Harrox started their bowling with an aggressive show of pace from Alex Baker who took three early wickets (3 for 40).
Sleaford continued to show some fight as Rhys Collings (36) and Oliver Bean (34) built a nice partnership before Curtis Todd dismissed Collings.
Ben Glendinning (44) and Ben Lambert (34) added to the resistance but Kitchen continued his run of form with 3 for 16 supported by Junaid Alam (1 for 49) and Cameron Fox (1 for 20).
Moulton took maximum points from the fixture with a 90 run victory as Sleaford were 200 all out in the 34th over.
l A Jamie Jukes century set Moulton’s 2nd XI to a huge 173 run against Spalding Town 2nd XI who were bowled out for 18.
Juckes and Joe Broomfield moved to 50 for 0 after 10 overs before the former took the aggressor role.
His first 50 of the season came with the partnership 118 from 25 before Broomfield was dismissed for a well made 39.
Juckes continued the charge, supported well by Ruarri Drumm (16) and Karl Hibbert (9*) before being eventually dismissed for a personal best 106.
Moulton posted 190 for 4, leaving spalding a challenging task against a strong Moulton attack.
Moulton’s young star Harry Lovell and Broomfield took no time in destroying the Spalding top order.
Lovell 4 for 9 from his opening four overs leading the attack and Broomfield 2 for 5 from two setting up the foundations for a substantial victory.
A run out for the ever impressive Lovell, left Spalding 16 for 7.
Youngsters Zak Maddison and Anish Suwarneraj cleaned up the tail with 2-3 and 1-1 respectively as Spalding were all out for 18 in 10 overs and a record 172 run victory for Moulton in a derby fixture.
Captain Mark Ramsden described it as ‘a professional and clinical performance against a young Spalding side who bowled and fielded very well’.
l Moulton’s Sunday side made it three wins from the weekend in the Rutland League.
Kitchen was the highlight this time hitting 118 not out as his side chased down Ufford’s 191 for 4 with six wickets and nine overs to spare.
That’s after a 99 run opening partnership with Lewis Peak (41).
Earlier Paul Bullock (3 for 40) had shone with the ball.
