Those up for your vote on May 4

The candidates for the South Holland District Council and parish council elections on Thursday, May 4 have been announced.

To control the district council a party needs to take 19 of the 37 seats.
Due to lack of candidates in some wards the Conservatives are already guaranteed five.

The candidates are (those listed in italic currently hold the seat):

Crowland and Deeping St Nicholas (three seats): Bryan Alcock (Independent), Jim Astill (Cons), Amy Cook (Green) and Angie Harrison (Cons). Not standing current incumbent Nigel Pepper (Cons).

Donington, Quadring and Gosberton (three seats): Henry Bingham (Cons), Margaret Geaney (Cons), Colin Johnson (Cons), Jane King (Ind), Matthew Swainson (Reform UK), Simon Walsh (South Holland Independents).

Fleet (one seat): Paul Barnes (South Holland Independents) and Edward McNally (Cons). Current incumbent standing elsewhere Peter Coupland.

Gedney (one seat): Jo Reynolds (Cons) and Matthew Stancer (South Holland Independents).

Holbeach Hurn (one seat): Wendy Blackman (Green) and Nick Worth (Cons).

Holbeach Town (three seats): Francis Biggadike (no description), Tracey Carter (Cons), Malcolm Chandler (Cons), Jacqueline Chapman (Cons), Paul Foyster (South Holland Independents), Sophie Hutchinson (South Holland Independents), Graham Rudkin (Independent).

Long Sutton (three seats): Andrew Tennant (Independent), David Thompson (Cons), Jack Tyrrell (Cons) and David Wilkinson (no description).

Moulton, Weston and Cowbit (three seats): Anthony Casson (Cons), Rodney Grocock (Cons), Thomas Sneath (South Holland Independents) and Andrew Woolf (Cons).

Pinchbeck and Surfleet (three seats): James Avery (Cons), Simon Jenkins (Green), Terry Moore (Ind), Sally Slade (Cons) and Elizabeth Sneath (Cons).

Spalding Castle (one seat): Martin Blake (Green), Gary Taylor (Cons).

Spalding Monks House (two seats): Sam Chauhan (South Holland Independents), Val Gemmell (Cons), Ingrid Sheard (South Holland Independents), Stephen Timewell (Cons). Not standing current incumbent Anthony Cronin (Cons).

Spalding St John’s (two seats): Manzur Hasan (South Holland Independents), James Le Sage (South Holland Independents), Ann Savage (Cons), Edward Sneath (Cons). Current incumbent not standing Jack McLean.

Spalding St Mary’s (two seats): Dave Ashby (South Holland Independents), William Hayes (Cons), Mark Le Sage (South Holland Independents) Gary Porter (Cons). Not standing current incumbent Harry Drury.

Spalding St Paul’s (two seats): Bailey Boulding (South Holland Independents), Rob Gibson (South Holland Independents), Glynis Scalese (Cons), Christopher Sutton (Cons).

Spalding Wygate (two seats): Aidan Forman (Lab), Roger Gambba-Jones (Cons), Aaron Spencer (South Holland Independents) and Jan Whitbourn (Cons). Current incumbent not standing Christine Lawton.

Sutton Bridge (two seats): Michael Booth (South Holland Independents), Chris Brewis (South Holland Independents), Peter Coupland (Cons) and Laurence Marchant (Cons).

The Saints (one seat): Laura Eldridge (Cons), Michael Seymour (Independent).

Whaplode and Holbeach St John’s (two seats): Allan Beal (Cons), Harry Griffen (South Holland Independents), Paul Redgate (Cons).

There are also parish council elections for Donington, Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge.
A host of others will be uncontested while there no candidates applied for Fleet South, Holbeach Drove, Deeping St Nicholas Tongue End, Gosberton Risegate, Pinchbeck Crossgate and Whaplode St Catherine.

The Donington Parish Council (12 seats) candidates are: Nicky Burdall, Kevin Geaney, Stuart Harris, David Hawkins, Jane King, Phil Lovell, Gillian Lunn, Bryan Robinson, Mark Rollinson, Paul Slater, Jane Stanley, Simon Walsh, Chris Wray.

The Long Sutton Parish Council (nine seats) candidates are: Claire Broughton, David Cawthorn, Edward Clarey, Kim Davies, Annette Facey, Hayden Feetham, Graham Garrett, Frank Heinrich-Tillier, Nadine Reeve, Debbie Rose, Melanie Tennant, David Thompson, Jack Tyrrell, Teresa Watts, Leah White.

The Sutton Bridge Parish Council (11 seats) candidates are: Ann Billings (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), Michael Booth, Simon Booth, Christopher Brewis (The Man in the White Hat), David Bruch (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), Diane Cook, Kim Davies, Rachael Goodwin, Aaron Heading, John Henriques, Janette Kirby-Fox, Adam Landy, Mellissa Landy, Sue McLaughlin (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), Mary Middleton (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), Natalie Mills (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), Alexander Paterson, Raymond Perkins (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), Melvyn Philpott (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), Michelle Pitt, Adam Richards (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), John Robinson (The Sutton Bridge Deserves Better Party), Anne Scarlett, Terry York.

The deadline to register to vote is Monday, April 17. The following day is the deadline to apply for a postal vote.
For the first time, residents in England will need to show photographic ID to vote.
Accepted forms of ID include a UK, European Economic Area (EEA) or Commonwealth passport; a UK, EEA or Commonwealth driver’s licence; and some concessionary travel passes, such as an older person’s bus pass or an Oyster 60+ card.
Voters will be able to use expired ID if they are still recognisable from the photo.
Anyone who does not have one of the accepted forms of ID will be able to apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate at www.voter-authority-certificate.service.gov.uk/ or by completing a paper form.
The deadline to apply for the voter ID is 5pm on Tuesday, April 25.
