The fourth is with Fuller at Cadwell Park as G&S Racing team enjoy a strong weekend

The two G&S Racing Kawasaki riders Zak Fuller and Jorel Boerboom were on fine form at Cadwell Park over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Fuller rode to a fine fourth place in the Pirelli National Junior Superstock championship, while Dutchman Boerboom took a solid 21st place in the senior class.

Kiwi rider Fuller was racing in front of his parents who had flown over from New Zealand to cheer their son on – and he didn’t disappoint them.

Qualifying in fifth position, Fuller started his race on Sunday morning from the middle of the second row and got away to a steady start.

There had been a shower of rain earlier in the day which left a few damp patches, so caution on the first few laps was the sensible way to go.

He completed the first lap in seventh place and, as the tyres warmed, he pushed forward to sixth and then fifth on lap three.

Fuller remained in fifth place throughout the following laps, but edged closer and closer to Cameron Hall until, on the final lap, he was able to make a pass and cross the finish line in fourth place to pick up 13 championship points – which place him ninth in the rider standings on 49 points.

Later in the day it was Boerboom’s turn to race the Cadwell mountain circuit.

It was his first time at the Louth circuit on the big Kawasaki, but although it is a difficult track to master, he rode well to qualify in 24th place for a start from the middle of the eighth row.

The Superstock class is one of the most competitive on the programme, but Boerboom completed the 15 laps in a strong 21st place, just below a point scoring position.

Team manager Tom Fisher said: “Both riders rode extremely well.

“Zak was not far away from the podium and is gaining in confidence with every race.

“With the rain prior to the race, some went with a wet front – but knowing that the track dries quickly at Cadwell we decided on dry weather tyres and it paid off.

“Jorel also rode well and is improving his lap times. It is a very challenging championship but he is chipping away and is heading in the right direction.

“To be fair, the bike developed a technical issue during the race which hampered his progress otherwise he could have been looking at a points finish this weekend.”

The next round is at Snetterton on September 9.
