Spalding Gymnastic Club’s top boys bag medals galore at Lincoln event

Spalding Gymnastic Club’s Lucas Webb and Luke Waterson were crowned county champions at and Individual six-piece competition held at Lincoln.

The event once again showed the depth of talent Spalding have within the club, as the squad also won numerous medals across the age groups.

In the under-10 age group, Luke Jakins won the silver on the floor, while Marco Vertuccio grabbed gold on high bar.

Alfie Rosam-Lee also claimed the gold on floor, bagged bronze on pommel and silver on parallel bars, while Lucas Webb won the pommel and finished third on floor.

Tom Martin was the only competitor at under-12 level, but had a good day – winning gold on high bar and bronze medals on vault and the parallel bars.

The under-14 age group also served up plenty of success, with Jamie Waterson winning gold on pommel, silver on both vault and high bar and bronze on floor. Zac Chapman also won gold on vault.

In the over-14 age group Luke Waterson had a terrific day as he won four golds on floor, rings, vault and parallel bars plus silver on pommel.

Overall, Webb (pommell) and Luke Waterson (vault) walked away as county champions in their groups.

Jamie Waterson was the second under-14 overall too, while Webb (second) and Rosam-Lee (third) placed well in at under-10 level.
