Skipper Jackson inspires a gr-eight win for Pinchbeck

Danny Jackson made a super 68 not out to steer Pinchbeck to a comfortable seven-wicket win over eight-man Belton Park in South Lincs and Border League Division Two on Saturday.

Andrew Beeston took 4-29 as Belton were dismissed for 116 at Spalding Grammar School in 31.2 overs. Haydn Roberts (1-33), Harry Waine (1-23) and Jackson (1-20) also got among the wickets to knock over the under-strength visitors.

In reply, skipper Jackson led from the front with a dominant batting display. He cracked 11 fours in his unbeaten 68 to ease Pinchbeck home in 33 overs. James Cole (17), Jon Ralling (0) and Sam Green (0) did lose their wickets, but Roberts (25 not out) kept his captain company to seal a 20-point haul.

Also in Division Two, Spalding 2nd suffered a narrow 26-run loss against Boston 3rd at the Memorial Field. Town put Boston into bat after winning the toss and saw their opponents post 204-4 in their 45 overs.

Sam Holland (57 not out) top scored for the visitors, while Rowan Evans (35) and Sean Barnett (29) also contributed well.

Richard Gilbert (2-49), Chris Green (1-44) and Rick Dale (1-35) took the wickets.

Gilbert (28), Keith De-Keyser (36) and Green (41) scored well at the top of the order in Spalding’s reply as they reached 125-3.

But the wickets began to tumble and Town were stranded on 178-7 at the close, meaning they collected six points.

In the Premier Division, Long Sutton’s poor form continued with a 38-run loss at Belton Park. Rob Simpson (5-33) and Jake Burton (3-33) starred with the ball to bowl Park out for 134, but Sutton collapsed to 96 all out in reply.

Only Chris Booth (30) and Adam Wright (29no) managed double figures.

Billingborough battered Moulton Harrox by 135 runs as Aaron Pullum’s 129 fired them to 354-4 at Harrox Field. Moulton’s Joseph Broomfield (70) and Tom Wilson (67) starred with the bat in reply, but they were all out for 219.

Spalding Town 2nd suffered an even heavier beating at Boston as they went down by 221 runs. Ryan Croom (130no) and Dave Newman (112) made big centuries as the hosts posted 353-2 batting first.

Jamie Juckes made an unbeaten 62 in reply for Town, but they were all out for 132.

In Division One, Jimmy Harrison’s 70 and a five-fer from Rav Sangha steered Long Sutton 2nd to victory over Lindum 3rd.

Harrison’s knock helped Sutton to 190-6 at Paradise Field, before Sangha (5-49) clean-bowled five Lindum players to help dismiss them for 170 and seal a 20-run success.
