ON-TARGET: Chris Hall bagged Spalding United's fourth goal at Soham.

Six-y Spalding United showing in FA Trophy

Spalding United came from a goal down to crush hosts Soham Town Rangers 6-1 in the FA Trophy on Saturday as their fantastic form continued.

Jordan Gent fired Soham into a 16th-minute lead, but the Tulips turned that around to lead 2-1 at the break thanks to goals from Ryan Oliver (24) and Lewis Webb (41).

If that was impressive from Pat Rayment’s side, the second period was even better. The in-form Tom Waumsley made it five goals in three games with number three on 64 minutes, before Chris Hall effectively wrapped up the win 15 minutes from time.

That didn’t stop defender Kern Miller adding two more goals (79 and 90) to ensure it was an emphatic afternoon for the Tulips.

They will now visit Leek Town in the next stage on November 1.

Elsewhere, Pinchbeck United were involved in the game of the day in the ChromaSport Peterborough League.

Ian Dunn’s side defeated hosts Riverside 5-4 in a nine-goal thriller to climb up to fourth in the Premier Division table.

Moulton Harrox slipped to a 1-0 loss at Stilton United, though, and consequently slip down to seventh.
