Getting ready for some Family Planning: Nathan Shortland (Bobby), Laura Scott (Tracy), Colette Coleman (Elsie) and Jonathan Tibbs (Idris).

SADOS cast take to the stage in Family Planning

Spalding Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (SADOS) are just two weeks away from their next production Family Planning.

One of Spalding’s oldest amateur theatre companies is going back to its roots to put on the hilarious farce by playwright Frank Vickery.

Set in Wales, the play introduces the Roberts family, their raunchy neighbour Mrs Millard, her son Jeffrey, and Bobby, Tracy Roberts’ nice but dim boyfriend.

Experience an evening of misunderstandings, fortune telling and surprises as Tracy tries to tell her family something important but her father gets the wrong end of the stick. Will it end happily ever after or will there be trouble ahead?

Laura Scott, who plays Tracy, said: “The Welsh accent has been a lot of fun to work with however I have on occasion slipped in and out of it at work, university and even in the supermarket, which does get you some funny looks.”

Zack Colam, who has been training as director alongside Brett Moore, added: “This has been an enjoyable show to assist on. The cast have been phenomenal and have really put in a lot of hard work and pulled together as a team. I’m looking forward to seeing the end result later this month.’’

The show runs from November 18 to 21 (7.30pm) at the South Holland Centre, Spalding. Tickets are £12 (£10 concessions), from www.southhollandcentre.co.uk or by calling 01775 764777.

This year SADOS are supported by The Voice and Coun Angela Newton.

You can see members of SADOS in The Magic of Music: On Tour this Saturday at Broad Street Methodist Church at 7pm. Tickets £6.
