Plenty of love for Eva (100)

A Spalding woman’s Valentine’s Day was full of love as she celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her family and friends.

Eva Taylor was born in Walkington, Yorkshire on February 14, 1924.
Staff at the St John’s Care Home in Spalding where Eva now lives decorated the rooms for her big day.
She was joined by son Kevin and daughter Yvonne Day who travelled from Falmouth, as well as some of her six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Eva’s husband John passed away aged 102 last June.
He was originally from Long Sutton and was working in Spalding when the couple met.
The pair were married for over 75 years and lived the town with Eva looking after the children.
The couple then moved to Pinchbeck.
“She is a lovely mum who was there all the time,” said Kevin. “It’s amazing seeing her on her 100th birthday.
“I don’t think she admits her real age as she always says she’s 21 when asked.”
Eva told The Voice she’d had a lovely day and was proud to have received a telegram from King Charles III.
She also said the secret to a long life was because she’d ‘kept out of trouble’.
