The homes will be accessed from the access to the development that's already been granted permission.

Plans for 13 homes in Pinchbeck passed

A further 13 homes are to be built on the former Keston Nurseries in Pinchbeck next to a site where work on 100 homes has already begun.

Outline permission for 13 dwellings off Mill Green Road was voted through by South Holland District Council on Wednesday night.

The site is officially listed as open countryside, but also was previously granted outline permission as part of a 200 home development, though final, reserve matters, approval was only granted for 100 homes on the site currently being built on.

SHDC’s Planning Committee this week voted to allow development on the remaining land with three of the 10 properties to be classed as affordable homes.

Coun Sophie Hutchinson stated she was concerned it was an attempt by the developer to get more homes on to the site and had ‘breached the trust of local people’.

“You can argue the 100 limit has already been met and the principle for further development on site is unacceptable,” she said. “I wouldn’t like to see this replicated on other developments.”

Planning officer Phil Norman responded that it was a ‘good point’ but that the situation was unusual enough to not set a precedent,

“In 25-years I’ve not come across it before and in our opinion this is not going to be something that’s replicated regularly,” he said.

The application by Keston Field Ltd also includes contributions to education of £87,740 and health of £8,580 towards health services.

Coun James Avery also called for a pavement to be installed on Mill Green Road.
