“We are both pleased and proud to report that our Year 11 students have secured truly phenomenal results,” said headmistress Mrs Michele Anderson. “This year, students faced marked-down grades after a push by government ministers to return results back to pre-pandemic levels against a backdrop of continued disruption during their five years in education.

“The school has again bucked the national trend of lower grades and is so proud of our Year 11 students who have worked tremendously hard on their GCSE studies over the last two years.

“The results they have achieved are not only up on 2019 (the last year of “normal” examinations), but most importantly are a testament to their commitment and hard work alongside the support of their parents and carers and the dedication of our experienced staff.

“We wish all our students the very best of luck and every success in the future; they have been rewarded with grades that will stand them in good stead for the next step in their education.

“The very great majority of Year 11s will be returning to the High School in September to take up A Level courses along with a large number of transferees from other schools.

“We are looking forward to welcoming them all.

“The high school is delighted that the students have done so well in their GCSE subjects; they should be as proud of themselves as we are of them.”
