PDFL round-up: Sweet 16 for on-song Moulton Harrox Reserves in demolition derby

Four players hit doubles as Moulton Harrox Reserves extended their unbeaten run in ChromaSport PDFL Division One to 16 matches with an emphatic 10-0 win over Spalding United Reserves on Saturday.

Declan Earth, Martin Sandall, Steve Sinfield and Danny Lambe-Hyner all helped themselves to braces at Broad Lane, with Andrew Williams and an own goal rounding off the rout.

Kev Nottingham’s side have now won 15 of their 16 games, drawing the other, and are ten points clear at the top.

Fellow Division One side Sutton Bridge United progressed in the Chairman Championship Shield with a fine 3-2 victory at Warboys Town.

Matt Eaton, Jake Lally and Jack Murley grabbed the goals to send Bridge through to the last four.

Up in the Premier Division, Crowland Town slipped to a 3-1 loss at Sawtry to stay 15th.

Crowland’s reserves fared better in Division Two, beating visitors Leverington Sports Reserves 2-0 at Snowden Field. Simon Acton and Ryan Kirchin got the goals.

In the same division, goals from Danny Kingman, Alistair Morgan and Jack Wycherley couldn’t stop Spalding Town losing 4-3 at home to Netherton United A.

Tydd St Mary were granted a walkover win in the Intermediate Shield, as hosts Pinchbeck United Reserves have withdrawn from the league.

In Division Four, George Leatherland (2), Danny Hunt and Gavin Phillips all netted to fire leaders Holbeach Bank to a 4-2 victory over Premiair.

They are six points clear at the summit, but have played more games than their three nearest rivals.

Whaplode Drove are fifth following their 3-0 win at Wittering Harriers Reserves.

Harry Grigas, Luke Baines and Alex Stokes all notched in that one.

Meanwhile, Long Sutton Reserves are now 11th following their 5-2 reverse at Whittlesey Athletic C.

Second-half goals from Shane Miller and Wes Wilson gave them some respectability, having gone in 4-0 down at half time.

Below Sutton, Tydd St Mary Reserves gave themselves a boost by beating Stanground B 4-2.

Ben Gibbons (2), Jonny Wiggins and George Groves netted for The Saints.
