PDFL round-up: Six different scorers as seven-up Tigers leave Stilton feeling blue

Holbeach United Reserves smashed seven goals as they caught the eye in the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division on Saturday.

The Tigers’ second string thumped Stilton United 7-1 on home soil, with Kyle Compton (2), Jordan Keeble, Josh Ling, Fenn Storey, Harvey Wirkowski and Tyler Finlay all on the mark.

Also on winning form in the top tier were Moulton Harrox, who battled to a 2-1 success at Oundle Town.

Joe Townsend and Tyler Wright grabbed the goals for Bobby Patterson and Tim Cole’s side, who made it back-to-back wins after their surprise defeat on the opening day.

Staying in the top tier, Crowland Town also won by the same 2-1 scoreline at Stamford Lions.

Danny Firth and Matthew Smith were on the scoresheet for them at Borderveille Sports Centre.

It wasn’t such a good day for Long Sutton Athletic, though, as they went down 3-0 at Uppingham Town.

Down in Division One, Tydd were on stellar form at Peterborough Northern Star as they cruised to an 8-1 victory.

A hat-trick from Bradley Easey was the highlight, while Matt Eaton and Jay Branham both bagged doubles and Sam Cooper opened the scoring.

In the same division, PInchbeck United Reserves let a 2-0 lead slip as they drew 2-2 with Cardea at Knight Street.
Babakare Camara was amongst their scorers.

Staying in Division One, Moulton Harrox Reserves suffered a heavy 5-2 reverse at Whittlesey Athletic Reserves.

Declan Earth and Danny Lambe-Hyner netted for Harrox, who also had Ash Elderkin sent off.

Likewise, Crowland Town Reserves were handed a thrashing at Eunice Huntingdon as they went down 6-0.

In Division Two, Holbeach United Sports impressed with a 6-1 victory over FC Hampton.

Jack Greenacre was the star of the day with a hat-trick, while Adam Day (2) and Dominic Ford also netted at Holbeach United Community Sports Academy.

It wasn’t such a good day for Long Sutton Athletic Reserves, though, as they slipped up 4-1 at home against Netherton United Reserves.

In Division Three, Tydd Reserves had a tough day after being dealt an 8-0 home beating by Casterton.

Better news came in Division Four, however, with Sutton Bridge United battering Uppingham Town Reserves 5-0 at Memorial Park. Ben English starred with three of the five goals, while Ben Partridge also got in on the act.

Last Wednesday night’s action was headlined by Moulton Harrox’s 5-0 Premier Division win over Long Sutton Athletic at Broad Lane.

Jonny Clay, Dalius Kisla, Joe Townsend, Alfie Woodward and Jack Smith all scored for Moulton in a one-sided affair.

Also on winning form last week were Crowland Town, who cruised to a big 6-1 success at Eye United.

Nathan Woodward starred with a treble at Lindis Farne Road, while Danny Firth (2) and Giuliano Staffieri rounded off the scoring for red-hot Crowland.

Holbeach United Reserves were beaten 3-1 at home against Leverington Sports on the same night, despite a strike from Will Britton.
