MP: Nerve agent attack could be here in Lincolnshire

South Holland and the Deepings MP John Hayes said in Parliament the recent Sailsbury attempted murder of a former spy could have happened in our county.

On March 14, during a House of Commons update on the Salisbury incident, Mr Hayes said: “She knows, as the

House knows, that that is led by the Metropolitan police, but this event happened in Salisbury and could have happened in Berkshire or Lincolnshire.

“Will she ask the Home Secretary to look at whether our local police forces, given the dynamic nature of these threats, are equipped and informed adequately to deal with them in the first instance?”

In response, Mrs May said she hopes we don’t see another attack like this and police are aware of threats.
