Moulton stay in front of the pack

A fourth straight win kept Moulton Harrox ahead of the chasing pack in the Dor-Jan Peterborough League’s Premier Division on Tuesday.
They saw off Deeping Rangers Reserves 3-1, having beaten Stilton United 3-0 on Saturday.
Joe Townsend scored twice at Stilton with substitute Martin Sandall also finding the net, despite the sending off of Ashley Coddington.
Their final home match of the campaign in midweek saw Coddington on target to go with a brace from Louis Steadman.
It leaves Moulton three points clear of Warboys Town, from one game fewer, but having played three games more than third-placed Uppingham Town, who are a further three points adrift.
An impressive run has seen Moulton setting the title pace with 12 wins and three draws from their 16 games since November, the only blot being a 4-0 defeat at home to Uppingham on April Fools Day.
All Moulton’s remaining four games are away from home.
Relegation-battling Tydd ran Uppingham close on Saturday before being pipped in a 2-1 home defeat. Matthew Cousins gave them the half-time lead but the visitors hit back after the break.
It was not as close on Tuesday, with the Saints crashing 6-1 at home to Holbeach United Reserves.
Chris Winstanley got the only goal of the game to secure the points for Crowland Town at Stamford Belvedere on Saturday but Warboys proved just too strong in midweek, sending them to a 2-0 defeat.
In Division One, Holbeach United Sports have hit scoring form as they chase a promotion spot. A 7-0 romp against Netherton United Reserves came four days after an even more impressive 8-0 win at Wisbech Town Reserves.
Long Sutton Athletic are secure in mid-table but have not played a game since April 8.
Whaplode Drove Rovers have finished their Division Two season comfortably in the middle of the table. They signed off in style with a 3-2 victory against Leverington Sports Reserves on Tuesday.
Crowland Town Reserves still have work to do to stay clear of the drop zone. A 4-0 defeat at home to Stamford Belvedere Reserves on Saturday did not help their cause.
Alarm bells will be ringing at Tydd Reserves, who will probably need to win all three of their remaining games to stand a chance of avoiding relegation. The fact they have lost seven on the bounce does not augur well.
Sutton Bridge United condemned neighbours Long Sutton Athletic Reserves to the wooden spoon in Division Three on Tuesday, chalking up a 5-2 derby victory.
Holbeach Bank are in trouble at the foot of Division Four after slipping to a 6-0 defeat at home to Bourne Town A on Saturday.
