Moulton shaping up nicely for title tilt – Patterson

Joint-boss Bobby Patterson has been very impressed with what he’s seen from Moulton Harrox over pre-season.

Perennial ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division title challengers Harrox have picked up some eye-catching friendly results so far, including a 3-1 win over UCL Premier Division North side Sleaford Town on Thursday night.

With a 3-0 victory over Wyberton also under their belt, new-look Harrox appear to be in good shape as the new season draws closer.

With co-bosses Patterson and Tim Cole forming a new-look management team in the dugout, there have also been changes to the playing staff with a number of new signings.

Striker Josh Ford has re-joined the Broad Lane side from Holbeach United, while midfielder John Smith has also made the move from Carter’s Park.

The trio of Tyler Wright, Josh Maguire and Gary Chappell have also swapped Parson Drove for Moulton, with Crowland Town’s Corban Oldham is another new recruit.

Ex-Pinchbeck United skipper Luke Gardner and the unattached Ben Crane complete the signing spree – leaving Patterson confident ahead of the new season.

He said: “We’ve got a real togetherness amongst the squad and pre-season has been key in trying to integrate the new players with the rest of the lads and that’s been going well.

“People obviously see the calibre of players we have in our squad and most have us down as favourites to win the league.

“We as a club always set out with the aim of winning trophies at the start of the season and this season is no exception.

“There is a lot of respect in that dressing room between the players and Tim and I as managers and we have the task of keeping the group focused week in week out, but I feel with the personality and desire to be successful of these players we’ll be able to do that.”

Harrox face Pinchbeck United next at Knight Street on Friday night.
