Mick Vassall edged out two fierce rivals to win the Seniors’ Stableford Trophy competition at Tydd St Giles Golf Club.
Vassall scored 35 points to take top spot by a solitary point ahead of Steve Skoulding and Malcolm Berridge (both 34 points) in Division One.
The other divisional winners were Henry Fiford and Keith Horspole.

SPALDING GOLF CLUB
Ladies’ section: Some 22 members braved the wet conditions to play for the Measures Vase.
Many ladies did not finish all 18 holes of the Stableford event as the rain became very heavy.
However, the winner was Angela Roper with 30 points ahead of Mary Gould (29pts) and Paula Brown (25pts).
Due to the scores the competition standard scratch went out to 77 (reduction only).
