McMillan replaces Kitchen as Moulton overseas player

Moulton Harrox CC have been working hard behind the scenes in preparation for the upcoming season.

Winter nets are starting for the club’s academy, running across two sessions. The first is on February 2, with the u11 and u13 teams training 6pm-7.30pm. The u15 and u17s will then train
7.30pm-9pm. Academy sessions will run weekly on Fridays until March 1. All sessions will be led by qualified coaches.
The senior teams’ net sessions start on March 8 and will run on Fridays until April 5, 6.30pm-8.30pm.
All sessions will be held at Spalding Grammar School.
All players, new and old, are welcome to attend as the club continue to grow their community base. To register an interest, email moultonharroxCC@outlook.com
One player who will not be taking part is Jamie Kitchen. He will not be returning for the 2024 season due to commitments in New Zealand.
However, replacing him as overseas player will be Flynn McMillan. He is a highly talented all-rounder who bowls off-spin and plays for the same club side as Kitchen – Feilding CC of the Manawatu Cricket Association.
Moulton first team captain Mark Ramsden said: “We are very much looking forward to Flynn joining our club. We have also been very fortunate to secure the signing of Robbie Townsend, who scored more than 1,000 runs and took over 30 wickets.
“Robbie is a very talented player and we are thrilled he has made the decision to join us.”
Townsend was previously captain at Heckington CC.
Jack Barnett has also confirmed he is fit for the new season after suffering a back injury that ruled him out last season.
Barnett, brother of first team player Matt, will be a key inclusion to the side with his right arm medium bowling and top order batting.
“We continue to welcome any players, new and old to join the club no matter ability or experience,” added Ramsden.
