The Ye Olde Bridge Inn manned the barbecue.

‘Marvellous’ return of fair

The return of Deeping St Nicholas Event has been hailed ‘marvellous’.

It returned on Saturday, June 3 with a special Coronation theme.
Hundreds went to St Nicholas Way to enjoy the bar and barbecue run by Ye Olde Bridge Inn of Crowland.
There was entertainment from The Folly and Graham James rounded off with Deeping St Nicholas school choir.
The school also ran a Coronation picture competition, judged by local vicar Erica Crust.
One of the organisers Andy Croyle said: “It was marvellous.
“The weather turned sunny for us, the residents turned out in force to support us, and there was a wonderful atmosphere and community spirit.
“We’re already getting people asking about next year!
“Particular thanks go to Ye Olde Bridge Inn and their team, to AD Bly Construction of Stevenage who helped us out with the loan of generators and donation of fuel at the last minute, to Spalding Rugby Club for the loan of the marquee, to Vine House Farm and Deeping St Nicholas Parish Council for their support and to all our stallholders for supporting the event.
“Of course thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible right up to and slightly beyond the last minute!”
