Two goals from leading scorer Jordan Macleod gave Spalding United a much-needed 2-0 win over Sporting Khalsa on Saturday.

Brett Whaley’s Tulips ended their two-game losing streak in the Pitching In NPL Midlands Division with the best result of his short reign so far against a Khalsa side that are above them in the standings.

With striker Gregg Smith back in the fold after his loan spell at Grantham Town, Spalding took a first-half lead at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field when Macleod netted on 32 minutes.

The hitman then added his second ten minutes from time to settle the contest, giving the Tulips a ninth win of the season and keeping them 12th in the table.
