LETTER: Thoughtless people use Holbeach facility as racetrack

People are using the green/football pitch at Holbeach Community Centre in Fishpond Lane as a racetrack.

My husband walks our dog there most days (and’ yes’ he does pick up any poo our dog may deposit and puts it in the dog poo bin up at the Community Centre).
This morning he came back and showed me a couple of pictures he had taken of the state of the grass at the centre. He told me that someone had been driving over the grass and it was churned up with vehicle tyre marks and it would make the surface very difficult for the kids to play football on because of the state of the ground.

As far as we are aware, there are a lot of bungalows around the green and we were concerned that people may have been disturbed by whoever was doing the driving around on the grass and whether anyone reported it to the police or the council.

Why is it deemed acceptable by some thoughtless people that they can do whatever they like, whenever they like, and to whom they like?
