The Voice of Spalding and South Holland
I read with interest the letter (last week) regarding the overused leisure facilities in Spalding.
I use the swimming pool regularly and, as mentioned, it is always very busy. This pool has to cover the needs of the schools and the general public not just in Spalding but from the surrounding towns and villages as well – a big area and a lot of people.
I live in Holbeach and like everyone in this area that wants to swim, have to travel into Spalding.
With the recent permission given for many new homes to be built here would it not be a good idea for the town to have its own pool? I know this would not solve all the problems but surely this would take some of the pressure off the Spalding facilities.
