LETTER: Bus journey ‘frightening’

We write regarding Carol Hudson and 19-year-old Daisy’s report in your newspaper this week.

What Carol and Daisy said are very true, it is very frightening for us.

I am 88 and my friend is 79 and we board the bus regularly as it is our only means of getting to the shops and the doctor’s.

I am not very steady on my feet and I also need a shopping trolley but my friend uses a walking stick.

Regarding what Malcolm Wheatley, operations director, said, it’s a load of rubbish. Where on earth did he get it from, we do not know, and can we have our regular driver back, who is kind, caring and has time for us, not some of the others.

So come on Brylaine, think what a mistake you’ve made by axing our 7.30am and 8.30am buses to make us have to travel to the shops like this on very overcrowded buses.

Don’t you care about us elderly people? You will be old one day.

We like to get out early and get back and rest for the rest of the day.
