A GOOD SPORT: Lewis Webb has left Spalding United for Peterborough Sports.

Lawlor arrives at Spalding United to fill Webb’s void

Spalding United have moved to sign talented Stamford midfielder Dan Lawlor after losing the services of Lewis Webb.

The Tulips announced their deal for long-term target Lawlor on Wednesday afternoon, with boss Pat Rayment calling him “another young, hungry and local player”.

The switch comes days after midfielder Lewis Webb left the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field to join ambitious UCL Division One outfit Peterborough Sports.

Webb, who won the UCL Premier Division title with the Tulips in 2013/14, follows former Spalding team-mate Avelino Vieira in agreeing terms with Jimmy Dean’s side.

Spalding have been very active over the close season, signing the likes of Paul Walker, Michael Frew, Adam Millson and Sam Murphy.
