It’s tight at the top of Division One

It’s tight at the top of Division One in the Spalding and District Snooker League with just three points separating the top five teams.

Bourne SC A and Consti E sit at the top of the table with 42 points each, although Bourne have a game in hand.
Their match against third placed Services C was cancelled on Thursday night.
Consti E beat Donington C 5-1 pushing them into second place.
Services C, Bourne SC B and Bourne SC C all have 39 points, with just a single frame win giving Services third position.
There’s nothing to split the two Bourne teams who sit on exactly the same points across the table.
The B team had a 4-2 home win over Holbeach C, while the C team whitewashed Sutton Bridge 6-0.
Winners for the B team were Mark Stoker (O7), Joey Scampion (R7) and Jake Mitchell (O28), while Dan Ashton (O7) and Terry West (R14) got the points for Holbeach.
The match between the C team and Sutton Bridge was closer than the scoreline might suggest, with three of the five frames going down to the black ball.
Elsewhere in the division Holbeach A beat Pyramid C 4-2 at home.
Derek Beba (scr) took the deciding frame over Jason Green (O56) to secure the win.
Boundary A had a 5-1 home win over Services A, moving them a place up the table to sixth.
The top three teams in Division Two remain the same after Thursday’s games.
Consti G beat clubmates Consti I 5-1 in a top-versus-bottom match, allowing them to hold on to the top spot.
The I team got off to a good start with a win from Jonathan Smith (R21) but it went downhill from there with Martin Deacon (O7), Darren Woodberry (O42), Mark Woodberry (O49) and Mark Wilkinson (O14) taking the next four frames for the G team.
Breaks of 42 and 25 clearance helped Darren Woodberry to his win over Martyn Stanley (R21).
Holbeach F had a free week, giving Services D a chance to make up some ground.
They beat Services E 4-2, moving them to one point behind Holbeach.
Winners for Services D were Jordan Philpott (R14), Jake Haslam (scr) and Courtney Boulding (R14), while Joely Shears (R7) pipped Adrian Liquorish (R14) by one point to take a frame for the E team. Their other winner was Russell Morse (R7) with a convincing 59-8 win over Mark Howlett (O14).
Pyramid B took the spoils in a match against Holbeach E.
Wins for Richard Clark (O7), Richard Skellett (O14) and Roy Jackson (R7) ensured a 4-2 victory.
Phil Coaten (O21) and Pete Ransome (O21) got the consolation frames for Holbeach.
Donington A jumped three places to fifth thanks to a 4-2 win over Services B.
Services started well with wins for Jason Rose (O28) and Jeff Collins (R7) before Nigel Braiser (O14), Kevin Hawes (O14) and Tony Scully (O35) picked up the final three frames and the match.
A brilliant 6-0 win for Holbeach B has seen them jump up the table from 12th to seventh.
Their win came away at Consti B, who drop down to sixth in the table.
John Christian (R7) and Martin Fear (scr) came closest to victory for Consti, both losing out on the black ball to Barry Haynes (O7) and Charlie Mullane (R14) respectively.
Consti H boosted themselves up to fourth with a convincing 5-1 win away to Gosberton A.
The result pushes Gosberton down to second-from-bottom.
Consti winners were Seb Grimston (O21), Justyn Stanley (scr), Jon Houldershaw (R7) and Oliver Turner (O14).
Gosberton’s solitary point came courtesy of Alan Jackson (O7).
In Division Three, Whittlesey C continued their unbeaten run with a 4-2 win at home to Consti C.
They now sit in first place with second placed Gosberton D having their match against Consti D cancelled.
Winners for Whittlesey were Gary Thewliss (R7), Jason Bloomfield (O7) and Neil Burton (O14).
Pyramid E beat Donington D 4-2.
Wins from Neil McLean (R7), Steve Thompson (R7) and Steve Doughty (R21) saw them to victory.
Whittlesey B remain second-from-bottom after a 4-2 defeat at home to Boundary B. The match was closer than reflected by the score with Jim Howe (O49) winning the deciding frame on the black ball.
Despite a 4-2 loss to Gosberton B, Consti J moved into third place, a free week for Donington B helped them.
