Group celebrates the jubilee

Parkinson’s UK Spalding and District Branch’s latest meeting was a right royal celebration.

The group put on a jubilee party to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

Entertainment was by the Dream Belles who sang a set of 50s classics following by ABBA hits and couple of patriotic songs too.

There was an afternoon tea provided by Beverley’s Bespoke Afternoon Tea and a raffle was included with a range of prizes.

An enamelled commemorative Platinum Jubilee pin badge was given to everyone present.

A spokesman for the group said: “Feet tapped, arms waved, the room decorations and the many outfits all reflected the red, white and blue theme.

“The consensus was that meetings are always Interesting, but this special event was the ‘best ever’.

“We were very pleased to do this with the support of the Lincolnshire Co-Operative Community Champions Scheme.”

The group hold monthly meetings on the third Thursday each month for people with Parkinson’s, and their carer/family, plus exercise classes twice a month.
