MAGIC ROUND: Last month Tydd St Giles' senior golfer Andy Betts achieved his personal best round as he came in with a fantastic score of 66-7=59. The round included five birdies and 12 pars.

Golf round-up: Tydd St Giles ace Dean is made of the Wright stuff after medal win

Dean Wright was on fine form to take victory in Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s January Medal competion last week.

His score of 65 was three better than both Andy Sleath and Ian Cooper in Division One. The other divisional winners were Ali Anthony and Keith Crowson.

Men’s section: January Medal: Division One – 1st Dean Wright 71-6=65; 2nd Andy Sleath 81-13=68 (ocb); 3rd Ian Cooper 76-8=68. Division Two – 1st Ali Anthony 75-16=60; 2nd Terry Pease 79-14=65; 3rd Gary Withers 80-14=66. Division Three – 1st Keith Crowson 90-28=62; 2nd Martyn Hale-Smith 82-19=63; 3rd Phil Wilkinson 86-20=66.

Seniors’ section: Individual Stableford competition: Division One – 1st Brian Newby 44pts; 2nd Derick Marsh 42pts; 3rd Wayne Alder 40pts.
