TEAM FOCUS - DYNAMO KIEV: Having lost several key players at the start of the season, Dynamo Kiev have spent most of the season propping up the Division Two table. But that hasn’t dampened their spirits, as they’ve battled through some disappointing and heavy defeats, not least their seven-game losing streak at the season start. They sit 11th in the table and with ties against How Far Can You Swim? and Tekkerslovakia to come, they will be desperate to avoid the coveted wooden spoon. Skipper Zack Lucas said: “We knew it was going to be a tough ask this season, but I think we underestimated just how tough. The start of the season was horrible. Turning up week after week to suffer a loss, but it helped us grow and the spine of the squad we have now is starting to turn into a decent outfit. We’re certainly more confident as we approach the new season. We try not to take ourselves too seriously but we are very competitive bunch of lads and make no mistake, we turn up to win! We reckon we can win our last two and that will put us in good stead going into the new campaign.”

Five-star Puyol seal Voice League Division Two title and promotion in typical style

Long-term Division Two leaders Puyol Pants Down finally secured the title and promotion to the top flight in The Spalding and South Holland Voice six-a-side League on Monday night.

They thrashed The TBME 5-0, while of the promotion-chasing trio behind them only Sarah’s Boys managed a win as they beat Bowlcut Wanderers 6-2.

The Division Two action began with Mail Carters seeing off Balotellitubbies 2-1, with man-of-the-match Kyle Reed scoring brilliant first-time finish.

Nibblesborough FC then lost more ground on the promotion-chasing pack as they could only muster a 3-3 draw against FC Salad Fingers. Matt Clarkson was MOTM in this one.

Then came the Puyol promotion party, as they made light work of The TBME.

Tyler Wright grabbed his fifth MOTM of the season in this one, as the champions produced a clever, concise and effective performance.

Match four was a comfortable 6-2 win for Sarah’s Boys over a struggling Bowlcut Wanderers side.

They are now in pole position for the second promotion place after Ben Shaw grabbed his second straight MOTM.

Next up, Dynamo Kiev secured a very impressive win against promotion-chasing Posh Old Boys in a 3-1 victory.

Kiev keeper Josh Richardson was MOTM in this one after he kept out a barrage of late Posh attacks.

The final game of the night was a comfortable 2-0 win for Tekkerslovakia over How Far Can You Swim? as they continued their very impressive recent form.

Tim Barrass notched both goals and was named MOTM.

In Divison One, third-placed You’ve Got No Fans eased to a 6-0 win over all but relegated Horse and Groom.

This game was as one-sided as the score suggests, with Kieran Rose MOTM.

Football Club held onto their 100 per cent record since joining the league after turning over a The Squad in a comfortable 4-1 victory. Marcus Parry again starred at MOTM this week.

Univeg Team then made it three straight wins as they beat a five-man Evolution side 2-1 to close the gap on the fifth-placed outfit.

Macauley Grimwood, who had earlier scored, was sent off in this one for dissent towards the match official – and a UKMA sanction now awaits him.
Evo keeper Jason Chllvers was MOTM in this game.

Meanwhile, leaders Tekkers head into next week’s grudge match with Football Club on the back of a comfortable 12-0 victory as they smashed Mirror Signal Malouda to relegate the basement boys.

Billy King bagged an amazing tenth MOTM of the season in the romp.

The penultimate match saw Notinmymums Forest secure a 1-0 win over Simple FC as they picked up their first win in seven games. Rob Dempsey bagged the MOTM prize.

The final Division One game of the night was a non-event, as East Europa were unable to attend their fixture with champions Polishborough. Still, a 5-0 walkover win keeps the Poles firmly in the title mix.
