Festive fun at Lithuanian fair

Around 200 people enjoyed traditional Lithuanian craft and catering at a special event held in Spalding last weekend.

Organised by the Lithuanian community, visitors were treated to a free tea with honey at St Norbert’s Church Hall on Saturday.

Alongside a range of confectionery and handmade souvenirs, there was also the chance to meet people from the community.

Organiser Vaida-Janina Trabsaite said the fair had been a great success and it had been more about meeting people than making money.

The Lithuanian Community, named after the Linden Tree, was created in July this year.

Members are currently working on decorations for the Christmas tree which will be in the town centre.
