Dunn eyeing second place after seeing Pinchbeck United smash ten goals in four days

Player/boss Ian Dunn believes his Pinchbeck United side have every chance of finishing second in ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division after a 4-1 victory at ICA Sports on Saturday.

Two Tony Edwards strikes inside 15 minutes put Pinchbeck in command at Jubilee Park, before Fabio Ramos pulled one back for the hosts.

After the break Tyler Wright deflected home a Dunn drive to make it 3-1, before sub Louis Sae-Be rounded off the victory.

The win was Pinchbeck’s eighth in a row in all competitions – and Dunn admits that his side are full of confidence.

He said: “In the form we’re in at the moment, we certainly don’t fear anyone.

“There are a lot of big games to come this season, but we certainly have to target second place.

“Why shouldn’t we? We’re a few points behind and a lot of the sides around us have to play each other. We see all of our games as winnable.

“Saturday was another good win. I thought we took our foot off the gas a little when we went 2-0 up, but rectified that in the second.

“I think they scored from their only shot on target, so that tells you how well we played.

“Young Jack Withers was absolutely superb in central defence. He’s stepped into the side really well and looks like he’s got a good future. Not many 16-year-old players can come straight in at centre back, but he’s made it look easy.”
