Deanna nominated as a Selfless Superstar

Deanna Smith has gone above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Nicola Follen, who nominated her as a Selfless Superstar.

Nicola said: “Deanna has come in to cover overtime to ensure she could still take part in activities as well as planning activities to support and engage the people she cares for while they were unable to take part in activities within the community.

“She cares for adults in supported living with additional needs, autism, epilepsy and challenging behaviours.

“Each day she helps with showering, toileting, cleaning, preparing and cooking meals, arranging and taking part in activities, booking and supporting them to attend healthcare appointments and supporting them to access facilities within the community.

“Challenges she has faced include needing to work extra days to offer the residents in her care continuity of care.

“She has had to manage behaviours which have been displayed due to changes in routine due to the lockdowns that have been put into place.

“She is a selfless superstar because not once does she complain, she takes everything in her stride and always comes in with a positive can do attitude.”
