The previous Flower Parade had queens. Pictured here are 2010 Queen Claire Allen and 2011 Queen Daisy Bland (nee Ivatt).

Could you be face of parade?

The search for the faces of the Spalding Flower Parade is well under way.

With the Spalding Flower Parade back on Saturday, May 6, Ambassadors are being sought to be the figureheads both for the event and area.

Where previously a Queen was crowned, now anyone can step forward to be the South Holland Ambassador for 2023.

And so far 10 people from different backgrounds have come forward for the chance to be the faces of the parade as part of the competition sponsored by Aphoenix Care.

The Ambassador will receive £250 as well as some amazing prizes.

The Deputy Ambassador will also receive £150 cash and prizes.

Both will receive a dress or suit from Fancy Frox to wear on the day.

Jan Whitbourn is organising the competition.

“We’ve had a great response so far,” Jan said. “All of the entries are from brilliant people who will make South Holland proud.

“But there’s still plenty of time to get your entries in to a play a starring role in the biggest event Spalding’s seen since the last parade”

Anyone looking to apply can contact Jan on 07779 895388 or email jan@tulip-events.co.uk or contact Richard Rush at The Voice on richard@spaldingvoice.co.uk and an entry form will be sent for you to fill in.
