Could you be a vital cog to assist Age UK in Spalding?

Age UK Spalding District is appealing for help to keep its important and valued day centre running smoothly.

New volunteers are required, as some of the present helpers are soon leaving.
General manager Liz Walmsley said: “We rely heavily on volunteers and couldn’t manage without them. We’re very lucky in the support we get from our volunteers and we have some very long-serving ones but unfortunately some are of an age where they are retiring themselves.”

Drivers are required between 9am and 10.15am and/or 2.45pm to 4pm. Applicants driving licence must have D1 category.
Escorts to assist drivers are also required (same times). Duties include help with seatbelts, door keys etc and to see clients safely into their homes.
And extra help in the day centre, off Park Road, socialising with clients is also wanted.

Liz said: “All our volunteers really think it’s a worthwhile job and say they get more out of it than they put in!”
